District welcomes two new adminstrators

During a Special Board of Education meeting held on Aug. 17, the Board of Education approved the appointment of two new administrators to the district.  

On August 18, Mr. Anthony DiCarlo joined the district as the Interim Principal of the Dixson Primary School while an active search for the Dixson principalship continues. Mr. DiCarlo has spent over three decades in education, beginning as a classroom teacher and progressing through building-level leadership, district administration, and the superintendency. His principal experience includes leadership at Tuckahoe Middle School, Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School, William E. Cottle School, and Trinity Elementary School, as well as several interim principal assignments. Most recently, he served as Interim Superintendent in Pawling and East Ramapo, following his tenure as Superintendent of Mahopac Central School District. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his transparent communication and unwavering commitment to building strong, trust-based partnerships with staff, students, and the broader community.  Mr. DiCarlo understands that successful schools are built on relationships and he will be actively engaged with staff and the community.  

On August 20th, Mr. John Griffiths will join the Grady and Dixson School staff as the interim assistant principal. Mr. Griffiths brings over 30 years of forward-thinking leadership experience, dedicating his career to driving school innovation and instructional excellence across several New York districts. Most recently serving as Assistant Superintendent for the Croton-Harmon Union Free School District. His extensive administrative background also includes serving as a K-8 Principal in Garrison, where he championed literacy, as well as holding Principal and Coordinator positions in Somers, which earned him the title of "Administrator of the Year." Mr. Griffiths began his journey in education as an elementary and music teacher.
