Overview

  • In 2018, the EUFSD Board of Education developed long-range planning goals that consisted of facilities upgrades, renovations, and capital projects. The goal for the EUFSD is to consistently monitor its aging facilities and make improvement when necessary and possible. On June 9, 2020 the Elmsford Union Free School District held a Budget vote, which included a resolution that read: "RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Elmsford Union Free School District be authorized to expend a total amount not to exceed $5,000,000.00 from an existing Capital Reserve Fund established through the School District’s Annual Meeting and Election held on May 17, 2016 to (1) reconstruct and upgrade the existing athletic fields at Alexander Hamilton High School to synthetic turf and install new field equipment such as bleachers, fencing, walkways and game equipment; (2) replace exterior doors and windows at Alexander Hamilton High School; and (3) to pay for related costs associated with these projects and the costs for professional services for these projects." The resolution was authorized by the voters and the project entered into the application and planning stages.

This project includes the installation of a multi-purpose synthetic turf field at the Middle/High School, as well as replacement windows and doors for safety and greater efficiency. The new field project will accommodate our physical education programs, as well as our athletic programs. The EUFSD is committed to our community partners and the new field will also be available for our community-based athletic programs and events - becoming a shared space for the community.
